Socializing with Social Distancing??

Hi, my name is Cheyann and I'm not bragging but I am a pro at social distancing. Keeping away from your friends or even family memebers may be difficult for some of us during these times, but I learned through having many long-distance friendships that you dont necessarily need to be in the same place with someone to socialize.

Tip #1 - VIDEO CALL

Even before the pandemic was an issue, people used to video call eachother all the time Facetime, Google Duo, ZOOM, Instagram, Snapchat... there are rarely any popular social media websites where you cannot facetime your friends and or family, (I know a lot of older generation people use Whatsapp and Facebook) great time to teach Grandma how to Skype. The Dolan Twins did a similar video on Zoom but with every popular social media twin they could some of them they didn't know if you're looking for new people to meet I recommend Monkey for video calling and Bottled - Message in a bottle to meet people from all over the world through messaging - but be safe. I made a good friend from India on that app.

Tip #2 - GROUP MOVIES/ACTIVITIES

One thing I really like to do with my friends when they call me is watch videos together or just do a random activity, a lot of the time we're just talking and it's like "let's have an art contest" or "let's write a book" (doesn't usually last but it's fun in the moment). There are specific apps that allow you to stream Netflix and Youtube with friends just look around for them.

Tip #3 - HOUSEHOLD MEMBERS

I know realistically not everyone will be able to use technology 100% of the time as a way to communicate with others, luckily most of us have pets or other people in the house but if there is a case where you just need to socialize and you can't do anything fun with the people in your home, exercise, reading, hobbies, and so many other things can keep your mind occupied. It's fine to be independent of others and taking time to just chill by yourself can be what you need sometimes.
